YUMI KIKUCHI will speak in Hiroshima on July 1
and Kyoto on July 28

International Peace Activist YUMI KIKUCHI will be speaking in Hiroshima on July 1 and Kyoto on July 28.

She will speak in Hiroshima on "How to Create Peace and Possibility of Ministry of Peace in Japan" will be at 2-4 pm at Hiroshima-shi Machi-dukuri Shimin Koryu Plaza. Entrance fee is 800 yen.

Her discussion in Kyoto on July 28, from 1:30 to 4:30pm at the Kyoto Bunka Center, Big Hall
will cover "The USA that cannot stop war, Article 9, and the possibility of Departments/Ministries of Peace."

The fee is 1000 yen for students/parents, 2000 yen for others. (Please send your request to

Also an environmental activist, author and friend of American Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich and his wife, Elizabeth, Yumi is married to Gen Morita, a musician, natural healing practitioner and organic farmer:

"Born and raised in Tokyo. After working as journalist and bond trader, she became full-time environmental activist in 1990, her first main focus was saving the tropical rain forests in Central America. At that time she started writing books about the wonderful journey and change in her life from a Tokyo business woman into a natural ecologist. She lives and teaches a simple life.

"After the events of Sept 11, 2001 Yumi organized the internet based Global Peace Campaign, which contributed to four full page peace advertisements in major newspapers in the USA, one in Italy and ten in Arabic magazines...

"In 2004 she produced the first Tokyo Peace Film Festival which showed six documentary peace related films. Over 1000 participants joined the event and Yumi is currently organizing a similar event for April 2005. She lives in the countryside of Japan ( with her husband Gen who grows most of what they eat organically. They are also raising two small children "organically...")

"Together Yumi and Gen founded the Harmonics Life Center, Harmonics Productions and Harmonics Publications in Kamogawa. Through them they aim to spread life based messages concerning health, healing and peace for a sustainable earth.
