Ten Thousand Things

"Ten Thousand Things" is a Buddhist expression representing the dynamic interconnection and simultaneous unity and diversity of everything in the universe.

Aichi International Women's Film Festival 2007 – September 5 to 9

The AICHI INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S FILM FESTIVAL, one of an exploding number of film festivals throughout the globe focusing on women, runs from September 5 to September 9.

Films include the Japanese premiere of Kayo Takehuji's Half Empty or Half Full – Shizu Azama's 2007 Women Left in the War, and Malaysian director Yasmin Ahmad's 2006 Mukhsin (Ahmad also has a witty blog, The Storyteller). Many more films, that appear fascinating, are listed at the website. Most are directed by women, from around the world. Some, including The Makioka Sisters, Kon Ichikawa's 1983 film adaptation, simply focus on women.
