Welcome to Unbound Online!
For the 2006-7 special issue of Kyoto Journal, “Unbound: Gender in Asia” (#64), we received a dazzling array of submissions offering diverse and celebratory perspectives on gender in Asia. However, due to time and space constraints we were unable to include everything we wanted in the print edition.
Unbound Online augments the printed issue by expanding and developing the scope of its contents – with, for example, further explorations of women’s roles, masculinity, gender and Buddhism, and gender minorities in Indonesia. We also feature more artwork and photography from two of our valued contributors.
In addition, Unbound Online includes a wide-ranging compendium of websites that focus on gender in Asia. This section will continue to be expanded and updated as frequently as possible, in the hope that it will prove to be a useful online resource — further suggestions will be welcomed.
