Bookstores
In
Japan:
KJ
is available mainly from
Maruzen and Kinokuniya
bookstores.
Kyoto: Kyoto
Maruzen has closed, but you can find KJ in the new Junku-do
store in the Bal building (8F), Kawaramachi, south of Sanjo.

KJ current and back issues are available at Green
e Books, Kyoto's superb secondhand English-language bookstore
("where knowledge is recycled"), on the northeast side of
Marutamachi Bridge (2F). Yuko Iwasaki and her friendly staff also promote
events including readings and a "One Day Professor" lecture
series, and have introduced a DVD rental service.
KJ
is also available in Kyoto from Maki Shoten, a long-established
imported foodstore on Higashioji close by Mototanaka Eiden line station,
from Tosai,
and Kyoto Nama Chocolat Organic Tea House, Okazaki.
Tokyo:
KJ
is available at Good Day
Books, the largest used English bookstore
in Japan. They
feature two ongoing in-house events:
BOOKNOTES, a bi-monthly lecture series by authors who
are writing or who have written about Japanese, famous and obscure,
or Japan, past and present; and BOOKCLUB, a monthly
non-fiction book club and discussion series for politics/history/foreign
policy junkies.
Outside
Japan:
U.S.A.
Look for KJ especially in Barnes & Noble, and Borders, and other
fine bookstores -- for example, City
Lights and A
Clean Well-Lighted Place for Books in San Francisco. KJ
was recently even spotted at Tower
Records in Honolulu.
Korea:
With
our latest special issue, #60, on Korea's cultural dynamism, we welcomed
a new distributor, Seoul Selection
– a fine bookstore run by former journalist Hank
Kim and his wife.
KJ #60 will also be available from the bookstore at Seoul's Incheon
Airport.
